Community Beacons is our largest undertaking of kinetic light sculpture and is part of an ongoing investigation of energy transformation and public interaction. Community Beacons are kinetic light instruments that produce bright focused light when played, without any batteries. Our work leverages the potential energy of public performance though free expression, enabling communication over distances with light and sound.
